Maureen Groer, RN, PhD, FAAN
Maureen Groer is a maternal-child nurse and a PhD prepared human physiologist with research interest in human milk biology and the maternal benefits of breastfeeding. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, and a member of the Expert panel on Breastfeeding, and fellow of the Society of Behavioral Medicine. Her research has included preterm maternal and infant immunology and microbiome, stress, human milk, and maternal infectious disease. She was a tenured professor at the University of Tennessee and the University of South Florida where the was awarded as Distinguished University Professor. Currently she is a Research Professor in the College of Nursing at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tennessee.
