Welcome to the
23rd Conference of the International Society for Research in Human Milk and Lactation
Welcome note
Our conference theme, “Past, Present and Future: Maternal-Infant Health, Human Milk and Lactation Science” invites reflection on the evolution of our field as well as the exciting transformative potential of future discoveries. From the foundational insights of milk composition to emerging research in immunology, microbiome science, and global health, we continue to deepen our understanding of human milk and breastfeeding as central pillars of maternal-infant health and development.

The Architectural History of the Anatomical Institute in Munich
The Munich Anatomical Institute, with its distinctive domed porch, was built between 1905 and 1907 under the reign of Prince Regent Luitpold. It is of particular architectural and historical interest as it is the first reinforced concrete building in Germany. Designed in a strict Art Nouveau style, it represents a “total work of art”. The design extended not only to the building itself, but also encompassed the entire interior down to the smallest detail.
